I brought my 2016 Toyota Camry in January of 2016. From the the start, I noticed a few things wrong with my application.

They kept changing my monthly payment, told me I still had to put $2000 down AFTER trading in my 2012 Toyota Yaris that only had 20,000 miles in it. First they said my monthly payment was 512 a month. I thought that was pretty steep even with a Credit score of 601. Then they came back and said oh its going to be 487 a month.

This was first brand new car off the lot ever, so I didnt think nothing out the ordinary. Everything was fine until maybe 7 months into the loan. I took a financial loss and they gave me an option to defer my payments for 2 months, but I had to pay money to defer! If I had the money to defer, then I wouldve made my car note.

So I took the option and was back on track with payments. Anyways fast forward to now when things to a turn for the worse. August 2017, I was laid off and I made a payment for Sept 2017. Made a partial payment for Oct 2017.

I was unemployed and I needed to make a payment to defer a payment. Makes absolutely no sense. So I made them aware that I could not pay them almost 400 in order to defer my payments for 2 months. I was in constant communication with these ppl and in January of 2018 I called to tell them that I will be paying off my past due debt to get caught up to find out they closed and charged off my acct and I had to turn the car in??!!

Wait a minute, I just talked to someone in December and She informed me as long as I stayed in communication, and let them know whats going on I would be fine. I called Rodney and he told me that being as though my acct was charged off, I either had to turn the car in or pay off the ENTIRE balance...almost 30,000. I said I just cant pay what I owed which was 1500 and get caught up? He said no.

I said how the *** u charge my acct off when I stil have possession of the vehicle? His response, because u were late and we have the right to charge it off if u are 90 to 180 days late. I said I was 100 days late and I was in communication with you guys. Now I have to turn the car in and still pay this 30000 loan off....and no vehicle.

Stay away from Southeast Toyota Finance Company. They are a ripoff.
